It was one of those days when your boyfriend isn't sleeping over, so your fridge doesn't have any of that impressive French cheese and there isn't a free-range egg or Yukon gold in sight. So, it was basically me, some mustard and a half empty jar of plum jam that I tried to make with no sugar, and is therefore not fit for human consumption. And also... a half eaten tomato. A light bulb dinged* in my head, I grabbed the frozen loaf of wheat bread in my fridge, and now I have a new favorite, savory breakfast.
Behold, the simplest of ingredients:
Yep, that's just butter, tomato and wheat toast. I just defrosted/toasted my bread in the oven (a blatant disregard for the technology, I realize), buttered it up, sliced up the tomato a laid it on top and then sprinkled lightly with Maldon flake salt. The result? Perfection.
*I am fully aware that light bulbs don't traditionally ding, but the ones in my apartment actually do. It's strange, I know.
